Barker Icon: Glencoe

Posted by Lee Fleming on

Twenty twenty sees Barker celebrate 140 years of English shoemaking in the village of Earls Barton, Northampton. As part of our anniversary we’ll be championing the Barker icons, styles that have remained in the Barker collection for many years alongside those designed in the last decade that will become Barker stalwarts in their own right.

Our first Barker icon is Glencoe, a functional hiker within our Country collection which has become a firm favourite for its outdoor styling.

Named after the valley in Western Scotland, Glencoe was introduced in Highland grained leathers with a lightweight Vibram sole.

Designed in Earls Barton by our head designer Steve Topping in 2018, Glencoe is made on the traditional 29 last for its fitting properties (true to size). Features include a rugged notch welt, brass D hooks and 20 upper stitch. Internally comfort is key with ankle padding and the lightweight rubber sole option.

Available in several colourways on grained and suede leathers.
